Kaufman police investigating knife fight, one severely injured and flown

KAUFMAN, Texas β€” A man was severely injured in a knife fight in Kaufman on Saturday night and flown to a Dallas-area hospital, according to police.

KAUFMAN, Texas β€” A man was severely injured in a knife fight in Kaufman on Saturday night and flown to a Dallas-area hospital, according to police.

At approximately 6:15 p.m., the Kaufman Police Department responded to the 1000 block of East First North Street in reference to the stabbing, Kaufman Police Department Captain Ed Black told inForney.com.

β€œUpon arrival Officers learns that a fight had taken place between two subjects and both subjects had used knives as weapons,” stated Black.

One of the subjects in the fight, a 48-year-old male, had been stabbed in the face. The man went to Kaufman Presbyterian Hospital and was later flown by CareFlite medical helicopter to a Dallas-area hospital with what Black described as severe injuries.

The other subject in the fight, a 58-year-old male, only suffered minor cuts.

β€œThe investigation into the exact circumstances of what took place is ongoing and no arrests have been made at this time,” stated Black.
