Crandall ISD earns Comptroller’s new Transparency Star designation

CRANDALL, Texas — The Crandall Independent School District is among one of the first local governmental entities to earn the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts new Transparency Star designation.

CRANDALL, Texas — The Crandall Independent School District is among one of the first local governmental entities to earn the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts new Transparency Star designation.

The Transparency Stars program replaces the Comptroller’s previous Leadership Circle program — to recognize local government entities which go above and beyond standards previously set in the Leadership Circle program.

“Simply posting financial documents is no longer enough,” states the Comptroller’s website. “Taxpayers are demanding more, be it in the form of downloadable datasets, new visual representations of information or even simple bulleted lists of key figures.”

Crandall ISD becomes the first local government entity in Kaufman County to earn the Transparency Star designation and is among only 55 other entities across the state of Texas, according to Comptroller records. There are only 20 other districts in the state of Texas, only five in the DFW area, who have achieved the designation.

“Our district is proud to share this achievement” said Dr. Robert Jolly, CISD Superintendent. “Crandall ISD taxpayers should feel comfortable knowing that we pride ourselves on being open and transparent with their dollars”.

Crandall ISD’s website, www.crandall-isd.net, has a section dedicated to financial transparency which includes financial and budgetary reports, prior year audits, tax rate information, utilities usage reports and check registers, the district stated in a press release.
