FORNEY, Texas — The City of Forney announced longtime firefighter Russell Bannister has been promoted to Deputy Chief.
Bannister, a full-time employee of the department since 2006, will now oversee the Emergency Services Division of the Forney Fire Department, which is responsible for daily operations, including emergency and non-emergency calls for service.
Bannister's tenure with the Forney Fire Department has been one of hard work and dedication. In 2015, he obtained the Driver/Operator rank; in 2017, he earned the rank of Lieutenant and Captain in 2021. He began his career as a volunteer firefighter in 2003 after graduating from college.
A lifelong resident of Forney, he graduated from Forney High School and later from Midwestern State University. He and his wife have two children.
