At approximately 10:05 p.m. on November 4, authorities received multiple 911 calls regarding a collision between a car and a pedestrian in the 800 block of E. Moore Ave.
First responders found 60-year-old Fernando Rodriguez Villanueva, of Terrell, with severe injuries from the crash.
Witnesses reported that Villanueva was crossing E. Moore Ave. diagonally as eastbound traffic approached. A vehicle in the left lane spotted Villanueva, slowed down, and honked its horn. Villanueva then moved from the left lane to the right, where he was hit by a 2022 Nissan Kick driven by a 48-year-old Terrell resident.
Emergency medical services rushed Villanueva to Texas Health Kaufman, where he was later pronounced dead. The staff at Texas Health managed to notify Villanueva's next of kin.
The Terrell Police Department's Advanced Crash Investigations unit is currently investigating the incident.
